That says it all really, people seem to comment on this series a lot, but I never saw it. So have set to record.

I've just seen it advertised on the box. I must say I only saw 1 episode, even so I quite enjoyed it.

Very educational so far. The brief scenes of intensive farming are pretty telling.

after watching few I finding a bit frustrating

If finances are so bad, how can he manage to go on holiday to Oz for 3 weeks

Since this is so much about the economics of pig farming, it would be nice to get some more detail. You pick up snippets, like I think it was said that his costs were double the intensive costs. It was also said he was trying to sell at 25% more than the selling cost of the "best" supermarket sausages. Though by the seems of it, he was not doing to well at this. They never mentioned anything about the Bacon prices.

For me the economics is a vital ingredient. Can you actually have decent farming standards and a product that is in some sense affordable?

There will always be a luxery end of the market, you can look at say Kobe beef where the cattle are positevly pampered to create the best steak in the world for example. Only the most unreasonable would not concede that you can go less far than this and still be on the right side of the ethical fence.

One telling economic thing that has come out vaguely is the sheer cost of the selling process at the farmers markets etc. Some of the figures mentioned seemed extortionate

Most educational thing on the programme so far has been the speed of the sausage stuffing
