Im looking at getting a new tablet, I currently have a 1st gen Tesco hudl thst has never really worked thst well, the screen seems to have random hissy fits of self typing when trying to write and strange glitches.
I would like something to play a few memory games, internet surf and do some writing so the ability for open office or similar would be good and if it can take a Bluetooth keyboard or similer so much the better.
I'm open to any suggestions thst don't involve Apple.
No real budget in mind but I'm not loaded lol.
I currently have a Samsung phone and get on with that rather well so let the suggestions commence.

I think its still the case that a premium brand like Samsung is a better bet than the cheapo tablets.

The wife has had the Samsung for 18 months now, no problems so far.
In the shop we were offered a choice of two, one a Chinese. Same packaging and looks. Very difficult to see the difference .Less than half the price.
Take care if buying from dubious sellers including ebay.

What's the problem with Apple? Would this be overcome with a second hand one?

If it would, just beware of battery life on used ones. Otherwise, I've seen nothing to touch them, really.

Is it running like treacle? My original iPad is, and my iPad 2 was before I lost it.

Cheeky sod. I meant I lost my iPad. Left it on a plane in Amsterdam. Of all the 'things people lost in Amsterdam', my story is the dullest.

My wife has an iPad and iPhone and I would rather not get sucked into the Apple world, they are fine and all but I'm happy with Android and for what I'm looking to do I really dont need an ipad level tablet.
My preferance is for a non Apple device and if thst means I'm missing out then so be it.
I have my free 15gig cloud with Android and all my apps are compatible with what ever Android phone I get when it's time to upgrade and I really don't want to become locked into apple.
Just my choice, just like some people dont want to use Windows as their operating system so download Linux I guess.

No, absolutely fine. Just if it was a cost thing, there are options available.

I think the real answer to choosing a brand is usually people stick with a brand because it's what their chargers/software/accounts/habits are with, and they're the best 'arguments' there are.

The iPad 2 was getting slow before we all went up one.

I'm very pro-Apple. I know they are expensive, but I feel they are far better devices, and the support is amazing. Not out to convert anyone, just what works for us. I think it does simplify things if all your devices are easily compatible. That's why we went all Apple and it works seamlessly and flawlessly for us.

Unless I want to post pics on here...
