Does anybody here know anything much about sending and receiving money by text message?
The kind of thing where you text to donate 20p to the cause.

I've found a couple of websites that offer the service, but one is too basic and the other too glossy, so neither give me faith.

i know nowt about any particular service but it seems far easier to use paypal or direct from a card(or over the web or by phone) or cash or the swap you 6 turnips and a bag of onions for a goat shoulder than a phone based system.

if it worked and was easy we would all be doing it for a pint of milk or to send a birthday tenner to the niece or whatever.

iirc there is a system for the pint of milk scale based on smartphone tech but i dont know if it can do person to person.

i quite like the old norse thing of using butter, iron and silver as coinage at least you can put the small change from down the sofa on your crispbrod

Unless I have misunderstood them, they require that the sender sign up for the service.
I want them to just send a text: like on the voting for "Strictly" and the like.
