The missing what? Yes, the burbot. Not of course to be confused with the turbot. Like the turbot, however, it is indeed a fish, but it's small and rather ugly: like a short, fat eel. Or rather was, for it's now believed to be extinct. But hearsay evidence suggests otherwise.

Could there still be one or two lone survivors lurking deep in some isolated stretch of river somewhere in the British countryside? A quirky piscatorial detective story, The Case of the Missing Burbot follows fisherman, writer and amateur naturalist Chris Yates in a quest to track down this elusive specimen.
