We have a number of threads on dogs here, but thought you might like one about cats.
Yesterday son was preparing eggy bread for their breakfast and had got the eggs mixed in a bowl. The siamese decided to put her head in the bowl while his back was turned for a moment (she is a rescue cat and can't be taught not to go on worktops). Son removed her before she started eating it, and as he was lifting her out of it she managed to stick her paw out and tip the bowl over both herself and the kitchen floor. Son says you wouldn't believe how far egg can go; I would, having had kitchen spills myself.
Anyway, he tried to wash her head off in the bathroom sink and as DIL posted 'we are not doing unspeakable things to a toddler' it was only the cat objecting. She didn't clean herself off properly so had to be put under the shower. Not sure if she is egg free yet, but the other cat had a go at her too. Whether that was because of the smell or because she thought the siamese deserved a good talking to, not sure.

Cats are something else. Our cat (also a rescue) used to have her killing grounds under a tripod lamp. She would catch at least one baby/small rabbit a day and eat the head (yes, only the head) and then leave the body in her killing grounds - a very specific spot under the tripod lamp. We used to have to ask the neighbours to remove the various rabbit corpses daily if we went away for a weekend....
brain, very nutritious, and it left a decent snack for the rest of the family
your one is my sort of puss, awakening to a face full of tom can spray, not my sort of puss
the last one i could claim as "mine"(not in a pet cat sort of way) had found its way into my fox trap and dangled from the top mesh hissing and very angry while the wolf and i laughed at it for a bit before i released it. it was a bit sullen as it went on its way and i never saw it again
some cats i have known have been delightful, Cat was polite, a perfect verminater that did not commit wildlife crimes and was welcomed for 17 yrs
she was fine with my half wolf of that time
she adopted me by following me to and then back from the corner shop and moving in
Think the black fluffy one of son's would look at interest with something like a mouse or baby rabbit while Siamese would probably run up the nearest persons leg to get away. Don't think either have the killer instinct although black one has a go at Siamese if it steps out of line.

Our black and white was definitely a huntress. When she disappeared, we discovered there were certain things we simply couldn't grow anymore as it was decimated by the local wildlife (mice, rabbits, etc). She even went through a mole killing spree before she decided they weren't worth it.
Hope she just went on to pastures new and was all right. I don't know if it is still the case, as the pigeon loft is no more and we have more building round us, but I always have to start beans inside or they get eaten. A friend has to put rabbit net round his allotment for the same reason you do.

I have no idea what happened to her - I searched for months and put up posters. I know the she wouldn't have moved in with anyone else as she hated other people. I was devastated! Little critters get under one's skin.
