I keep timing out on ds, and pages are taking ages to load. Firefox and windows 7

First, clear your browser cache if that fails then try another browser.

Tried that. ie is even worse, and cookies are cleared. It has taken 6 attempts to post this.

I've been having similar problems. One PC it works fine and the other it refuses to load. The one that refuses has had all it's cache clear and it's that that is causing the problem. I've solved it by turning off the router firewall, just like the problems we've mentioned to do with a couple of other US based sites. All other sites don't seem to be affected, just DS today.

It can't be an ISP issue here as both PCs are using the same ISP and same router. It seems DS needs to download something to the PC that the firewall is blocking, once it's downloaded DS is fine even when the firewall is turned back on - very strange.

Had problems at home last night, very slow page loading, time outs etc, 'twas the the same on Over The Gate, other sites were fine.

I believe Chez was having problems too. It is a little bettter now. Cache clearing didn't improve it at all.

Same here last night and first thing this morning ---working again now. p.s. Had identical problem on over the gate forum now also working. Nothing else seemed to be affected.

I've not noticed anything either but that doesn't mean there's not something in common with everyone whose experiencing the problem.

For those who are post the following information:

Web browser brand:
Web browser version (see help menu):
Operating System:
Connection provider:
Geographic location (nearest town/city):

Then do the following;

Open a command prompt and type

ping www.downsizer.net

A series of 'pings', usually 3 or 4, will be run each giving a time for the response back from the web site. The min and max of the time reading is the important bit.

It's back to normal this morning. It was impossible last night. I usually use ff (3.6.24) and installed chrome specially to see if it made any difference - it didn't. Ubuntu My connection is Telecom Plus, don't know who they are subcontracting to currently. Jump on point is Bournemouth. Time is between 44 and 407 ms.

I'd still say ISP/Routing issue of some description, nothing on the site has changed, and the fact that some other forums in the same datacenter have had complaints does imply routing.
