Yesterday afternoon I went to feed our horse - only to find that some little **** had cut through our fence. Our field backs onto a farmers field, who is currently baling straw in it. Normally the entrance to his field is locked, but when he is working in it it is open. If our horse had bolted into his field he could very easily have ended up on the back road - where all the boy racers hang out!

I am so shocked that someone could be callous enough or stupid enough to do this. Lundy thinks this is just kids - I thought someone might be trying to nick Jas!

Lundy has patched the fencing up, but I am on my guard now. Must say Friday evening there were a lot of youths knocking about. I did think it funny when I went to feed Jas yesterday morning that he had *broken into* the bit of paddock I have fenced off because it is boggy at the moment. If that is the case and the fence was down all day yesterday I have been really lucky that he has not been too adventurous to explore!

That is worrying, Gertie.
I hope it was just some idiot youth, rather than someone trying to steal Jas. Either way, I really can't understand the motivation.

Goodness, how irresponsible can some people be to do something like that. I have to say on first reading it sounds a bit more than kids, my first though was someone was trying to steal him as well. Is horse rustling a problem still?

We went down last night at 10.30 to check he was OK.

I think it would be kids, after all if someone was wanting to nick horses there is a horse dealer at the other side of the farmers field with a field full of horses!

Am going to install some more electric fencing - wish I could plug it into the mains, that would teach the little ******* a lesson!
