Ahh, thats more like it. Ellie said that hire looked like 40quids or more, but that's looking more reasonable. Cheers

Turn up with cash, tell them you're doing it for the school, or some charit, or something and smile sweetly. HSS have always given me a discount to trade rates (10-20%) off. And, actually, it usually has been for the school, but they don't know that. What's easier to live with, guilt, or an overdraft?

I'm in Cambridge on May 3rd, and staying til May 5th. If you can arrange stuff around that, I'd be happy to collect and return the shredder for you (from HSS). The one on eBay I can't see, as eBay is a NSFW site, apparently, so I don't knwo where it is, or when it finishes. If anyone'd like to enlighten me, transport may be available...

HSS bought out Domindo tool hire and another small company to gain huge market share.

They will deliver large items for you. (I needed a 5m triple ladder to get up on a really high roof, they delivered. Needed a heavy duty generator for a weekend and they delivered that too. All in the price.)

A green wood needs a very powerful motor running quite fast to shred easily. The council operated machines around here are HUGE.
The advantage is they rarely jam. Also they eat EVERYTHING.

Look at HSS and see if you can hire during the week rather than at a weekend when everybody wants stuff.

Cut everything at ground level a week before you get the shredder so it has chance to dry out before shredding.

A selection of random thoughts, which may be worth every penny you paid for them! Or then again they might not apply in your situation.

Its in Bushey (appropriate?) Herts, so not that far from Cab.
Mountfield Quiet Shredder, little used, collection only, no bids at all yet, ending 2+ days time...
