I've got to persuade my entire herd of four not only to go into but stay in a small pig sty this morning. The vets coming between 10 and 11 to do my first TB and bruccelosis test here since I started keeping cattle again. Coluld have a little fun this morning

Phew a lot easier than anticipated thank goodness. The vets going to return on Friday to check the results. He can just have a look at them in the field to see if there are any reactors

Good luck. You can't help but worry until they give you the all clear. Are you tested every year, or every 2. We are every year here.

I think its every two years. I dont think that we are in a hot spot

As a new herd we had to be tested every year for 3 years then it moves to the parish testing interval (every 4 years as we are a low risk area). Luckily the first test was as soon as we moved in & our last test is coming up soon. Do you have to have pre movment tests too? We do at the min but wont once we have had our last of the 4 tests done. Justme

Just me. We are lucky to be up here in North Wales. There's a lady on another site in Mid Wales who has just had half her herd come back as positive after the previous test in February was negative. Thats twenty odd animals out of atotal of 40 something ! Thats heart breaking !

we were sent that letter alison

luckily it was after lettice went to live elsewhere because that would have been the straw that broke our backs i think

we were moving millie and lettice twice a year and theat woudl have been too much for us

Fortunately ours move before slaughter, then I think there is no testing, but I am still hoping to sell a small group, and they will have to get tested again.

we had a letter not that long ago that said that we would have to have any cattle tested so many days before any movement would have been SO difficult for us
