Hmmm... Feasible then (that wall gets plenty of sunlight, they ought to like that), but the response from OH was rather unenthusiastic. I don't think she likes bees.

I went on a beekeeping course some years ago with my B.H. to keep him company on the understanding that he could have bees so long as I had nothing to do with them as they were frightening----plucked up the courage to handle a frame and became completely hooked-----It's the BBKA spring convention at Stoneleigh this weekend for anybody who doesn't know and wants to look at bee stuff-----you'll make the entrance price back by what you save buying the hive part seconds from the thornes stall if anyones thinking of making hives
Once you've all the protective gear on it feels very safe. And the bees are very little and quite sweet. If I get some I shall call them "girls".
agree. Its a fascinating thing to do. Does Mrs Cab like honey? Can you persuade her with thoughts of all that free (ish) beeswax for soap and the like?

I've always fancied the idea of installing a bar code reader at the entrance to let you know if they are all back or not.

She likes our soap, and she loves mead, but she's only luke warm on honey. Whereas I can eat honey by the ladle full.

Am I right in thinking that you can get hold of lots of honey anyway?
Not discouraging you from getting bees, just wondering why...

I can. Although how is top secret and she's made me promise not to dstribute the honey further.
I just fancy having bees, I think they're great. And it would be my honey.

Although the bees might disagree somewhat on that count.

Where's stoneleigh? (ish!) My mum's just got some bees, and might like to go. I need more space to have bees, as himself has a phobia of flying stinging things, and doesn't like honey. He does like mead, though.....
I would assume thats Stoneleigh Park, where they have the Royal Agricultural Show? So thats inbetween Leamington Spa and Coventry (an unenviable position )
