They're fun, but are they a bit bigger than most people would be likely to buy? Not wanting to go onto a downer with them here, but how many women regularly wear really big earrings?

I hear that some women like to go out to dinner from time to time.

What, and they want to pick up TV reception while they're out?

Wasn't intending it as a criticism 'cos I think the earrings look cool, but even when 'going out', how many women wear big danglies these days?

They're as long as her ear, and that makes them bigger than earrings worn by lasses I usually hang out with. Why, do yours usually trail along the floor after you?

These days my earrings are very modest (if I remember to wear them at all), but I do have a fine collection of Bet Lynches tucked away in a drawer somewhere.

I have a bit of a collection of varying degrees of Bet Lynch. If busy houseworking or gardening then there are some plain and secure gold hoops, but other than that it really varies. The other piercings have just studs in that don't ever get changed.

One of my favourite pairs are on this site look under jewellery and scroll down to the chicken earrings no pw002

the copper ones are about half the size.

Alarm bells ring re using copper for earring wires.
Had a bad time with a copper-wired earring in my teens.
Why not use silver for all of them ?

I like them, although my holes have got big over the years so I wouldn't chance it. I can only wear small sleepers or studs really.

They do look akward to get in.

Becki the holes they are in on me are huge!! the earings weigh practically nothing - even with the crystals. I can't wear ordinary earrings in those holes but i can wear these no probs - they are balanced too.

As to the size - the twisted ones are 2 1/4" from top to bottom - the copper ones 1 1/2". As the earrings actually go into your ears there is no dangly bit - if you measure a drop earring from the hook through your ears to the bottom - it can be 2".

The larger ones look best with hair up or short hair - as do most drop earrings really.

They really aren't awkward - you insert the bottom of the spiral into the ear from behind, and the just gently push it through until it gets to the hook before the drop.It winds in easily.

Keep the comments coming folks!

Yes I thought that - the copper ones are actually tryouts - I use them to try out a design - however i do lacquer other things I make with copper to prevent any tarnish or reaction. I am hoping to use gold as well (when I can afford it)

They are lovely lettucewoman, unusual too. I like the smaller ones best and the silver wire.

ears dear, ears. I was so trying not to give NL or any of you lot ammunition. Thought I was safe, your minds work in a different way to mine evidently.

I have 3 earrings in one ear and 4 in the other. Nothing pierced any where else.

Don't wear one of those spirally earrings there, it'll get caught in the top of your kidney warmers.
