i had that problem a while back, my drive would not recognize nero, so what i done was to download the trial version and enter the key number of your version into it . its not illegal because you already own a copy , it says that somewhere on the nero site, the only problem you might have is upgrading from nero 5 to version 6 then you might have too pay also on the nero site it tells you which cdrw drives are compatable it also has the upgrade version and link next to it
