i'm not sure if i fall into the downsizers criteria for advertising, so i'm also interested in any other sites if anyone knows of any.
Maybe someone might be interested in advertising my website on their site and i could do the same

Anyone interested?

Not sure that we ever picked up any hits via link exchangers, Jema'll know more though.

I get lots of hits to the site and blog from having my addresses as a signature.

I have spent the afternoon signing up on collectors/antiquarian/archaeological forums with links to my display stands site.
Also paid for magazine advertising.....
Glad to hear of any other ingenious ways of advertising ?

me too. I just signed onto a wedding forum, but they don't accept links to your web page unless someone is asking for a certain item then you can post your website

You can have a entry in Yellow pages for nothing. It's only a basic listing, but it helps people find you.

Link exchanges tend to be quite feeble.
