Perhaps you too are missing the point.
I only have one lifetime, and a limited time in which to pursue those interesting little questions. So I have chosen to find answers to different questions - how to raise certain animals, how to grow my food under the conditions that prevail here - which are not those in the textbooks, how to prepare and store the food I have grown.
If I just took an air rifle and started taking pot shots at rabbits or pigeons at the bottom of the garden I would be finding answers on my own. But there would probably be quite a few animals maimed and left to die a painful death on my path to enlightenment. Surely it would be better to learn those skills under the guidance of someone with years of experience.
People like yourself and all the others who have been kind enough to share their experiences here allow me to explore other possibilities. Right now I am happy to be following the path I have taken to its end. But perhaps I may be inspired by someone writing about the skills and experiences that give them pleasure.
Very well said Judith, I think we're all pretty open to being educated and I don't know anybody here that professes to be the guru on any particular subject matter.

Actually I think most of you missed the point. They were interviewer type questions (asked for the benefit of others).
In other words, why not search your minds for those interesting little questions you've always wanted answered (it's like explaining a joke)
Flip, far to subtle for me fella, I'm still none the wiser.
