Our Neighbour gave us a rabbit he shot last week and Frewen made a Pie. I have asked him to take me shooting this week. My effort at getting more involved. I may even go look at a few air rifles. Any tips, rifle recommendations or general support would be greatly appreciated. I once killed a spider

I am going to have to do this for the first time sometime soon, can we compare beginners notes... (maybe the odd few will need to be in pm's ) Haven't a clue about guns though, I own a shotgun with a name beginning with L that sounds vaguely like my daughter's name.

Start on that pheasant that comes and stands outside your kitchen. Mind you, there won't be anything edible left if you shoot it with a 12 bore from that range, but at least you'll be sure of hitting it.

I nearly ran over a rabbit in the car this morning - only just missed it. i hate the thought of running them over, but can shoot them without a tremor. Strange eh?

Yet a nice clean road kill means you are not picking bits of shot out of your meal later on. Know what you mean though.

Id love to share notes Cathryn. Although I saw some bunnies whilst out on patrol last night and thought "ahhh... I mean ...food" Good job Frewen can do the messy bit.

I skinned one yesterday. �2 in the fur at the farmers market. Mind you I might pay the extra �1 next time and save myself the faff and OH the trauma.

Well the bloke in the local gun shop was next to useless and more than a little rude..... However, I think I know enough to kit myself out now but am going to borrow first and maybe go on wednesday. I hope it is warm...
