Good. Perhaps it will offset (slighty) the damage the Barnardo's campaign has done.

Himself has had a quiet rant about this. There are large numbers of woodcock (and other non game birds, such as flocks of plovers) currently gathering on his fields which are all along the coast, so there only chance of food in this hard freeze. He says DEFRA usually issue a ban at this time. Have they, as we have seen no sign of it?

I suppose that those who care will respect this in any case and those who don't will just carry on regardless.

Barnardo's released a film about country folk (killers) going around shooting children as though they were vermin (I've not seen the film). BASC is saying this is extremely negative to the shooting community (and the media progress made by BASC in recent years) and an insults to those living in the country.

Barnardo's wanted to shock people with their film but they outraged minority groups by their insensitivity and stereotyping.

The Chair of Charities Association received a formal complaint from BASC and has written to Barnardo's in the strongest terms.

You can watch the film on Barnardo's website. I'd say that BASC are being over sensitive.

Barnardo's had use another minority group for their metaphor then there would be a much bigger backlash. Barnardo's could have expressed themselves in another way but instead chose to demonise a minority group, one which they thought would be an easy target (bad pun) rather than one with a higher profile. Just imagine the reaction if they used Sikhs, for instance.
