I was kind of a star maths student, on the 'A' level course, I was not even expected to bother with what the rest of the class did (which was handy as it also meant no homework). So when the kids approach me with maths homework, I expect to be able to figure it out.... but only if the numbers are right in the first place

A truly 'star' student would have handed back the completed problem with the mistake in the question corrected.

My school maths lessons consisted of being sent out to count the railings around the play ground.

She has just told me she wrote one of the numbers down wrong


In my defense, there were quite alot of numbers, and no one in my class got it right, the 'star student' wasn't much use

It wouldn't make much odds anyway! And in my book the 9 looked like a 4

Amiphist, if he keeps harping on, mentioning the Peruvian asparagus incident often helps. Well, we've not tired of it, yet Even class stars can make mistakes
