Nothing useful to suggest from a techie point of view, but with perpetual spinach, although you can harvest all through the winter, it's best not to pick when there's a frost.

Very tasty though, and seems to grow anywhere.

it's the character map you're wanting... i use it when i need to put print on something for paint shop pro since they don't give you all the symbols you need (like � for instance, i watermark my photo's!)

if you go to Start---> Find--->Files or Folders then type in 'character map' you should find it as an .exe file near the top of the listing... dead simple

Dint' know that Dunc .... thanks for the tip. I just hope that the frosts are some way off yet

In addition to what's already listed:



Greens:

Arugula/rocket

Chicory

Chinese cabbage (many are sweeter and lighter tasting than traditional cabbages)

Choy sum

Collards

Fennel

Gai Lan

Garland Chrysanthemum/Shingiku

Komatsuna

Lambs lettuce

Lettuce, repeated sewings of summer, then winter

Mizuna

Mustard

Pak Choy

Sorrel



Herbs:

Asian garlic chives

Coriander-Cilantro

Dill

Fennel

Cuttings of woody stemmed herbs



Legumes:

Beans, French (in south only)

Peas, snow (also you can eat the top part of the pea vines in stirfry or soup)



Roots:

Garlic (check best time for your area and consider a raised bed to keep it dryer)

Leeks

Radishes, daikon type

Radishes, small ones every week

Spring onions



For future crops:

Asparagus

Fruit trees and small fruits

Seeds of biennial flowers

Green manures such as clover and rye
