Having read this thread I have noticed that bunny whatever has failed to speak up in his defence even though several olive branches have been offered.

Nice to know he was behaving himself, to many out there screwing the sea for all its' worth.

Agree, but as he explained everything's above board. Why don't you sign up, we haven't got enough fishermen (or women) on here.

Just as a matter of interest, why do people seem to get particularly wound up about bass?

Not just bass, I'd say most commercially important species are under threat hence any non regs fishing of them tends to upset me.

You're right, my friend the mackerel never gets this kind of lovin'

I guess it's partly down to it's reputation as a sport fish, the pressure on it's stocks and the cost which encourages abuse.

Mind you Rick Stein reckons a fillet of fresh Gurnard tastes as good.

Not very often - but when they get it I pounce - i like them baked, wrapped in foil with a little bit of white whie and dill.
