Our eldest wants to start messing around on the PC, any downloadable edutainment type software around for 4-5 year olds?

Any DK stuff is great. Jolly Postman is superb. I have a couple of pals, IT teachers with their own kids.............will ask them and post here! If I get some of the stuff could pass it on. Am sending Mrutty Jolly Postmasn CD it's all parcelled up in the back of my car ready to go off tomorrow. BBC has some good links.........check out History for Kids! Denise

Ideally I want stuff that's downloadable, don't want any more bits of plastic to clutter up my dining room.

What you can download stuff from DK? I thought it was all on CD, I'll check it out in the morning.

The BBC kids sites are good IMHO.

downloads.com can be quite a good search engine for things like that this was a search for free educational games but I am not sure if their searchs are reproducible from the url do this might not work

Lots of stuff on the BBC sites that are very good. Also lots of very useful revision stuff for when they are older too. Be careful though Tahir, as soon as they get access to the PC, they will leave you behind. Our thirteen year old is setting up web sites for all her friends

Somewhere on the Money Saving Expert website there was something by a teacher looking for free stuff for her class...pretty awful isn't it? If I come across it again I'll post it up here - although almost all my non-work browsing these days is here with the odd nose at River Cottage.

https://www.abcteach.com/ this site has worksheets you can download and print off to do together. As others have said though BBC is probably you're best bet. https://www.noradsanta.org/ and this one is seasonal at the moment!

I looked at the DK site, it's all intercative online stuff, I'm after stuff that can be downloaded and used later. I'll look through the rest tomorrow, thanks everybody.
