It's a way of think about/remembering rhythms using a word pattern.
SL's fiddle parts go : dadada, dadada, dadada daaadaaa. Or elephant, elephant etc.

Tom`s(my son) early violin rythem seemed to be""everybody up down"",with a hula hoop balanced on his bow.
