The carnival parade goes past my garden that afternoon. I don't want to add to the horror.

Blimey, I don't go out without long trousers, a hat and boots. Maybe naked gardeners have better tamed gardens than I!

not in the garden but there is giant H along the river bank, i do "garden" the odd bit of himalayan balsam off the banks but i wont be doing it naked

My neighbour offered me a tenner not to take part last year..........

Anyway its guaranteed to be freezing so do something indoors

With the deer ticks present in even greater numbers this year there's concern over Lyme disease, babiosis, and - worst of all - powassan virus. We're wearing long pants, long sleeve shirts, and spraying fabric with DEET.

deet is pretty good against ticks but do you have bog myrtle in your area?

tis the best tick (and blackfly) repellent i know of.
