back to systemic pollution for profit

i was watching the mortimer and whitehouse fishing show last night, they met up with fergal sharkey in his local pub over the water

fergal had a couple of numbers to consider over a pint

ps the rivers and loughs of the roi looked rather clean

since water and sewerage were privatized around £73 billion has been extracted as directors bonuses and shareholder dividends, investment in infrastructure has been minimal

thames water dumped 2 billion somethings (cum or lt it is still a lot) in the space of 2 days recently

the nX chickens on the wye catchment have degraded the river to almost dead as the compost is spread on the land and run off runs off

this is systemic the east coast inshore fishery is, imho, project specific re that, more data and more lies challenged recently

The company who disposes of our sewage was fined heftily before open season on dumping, and has also just lifted the hose pipe ban its water customers had during the end of the summer. Our water is supplied by a different company that has never been in public ownership, but has always had a good record.

I don't know whether "y'all" are ready. The nutritional information in the second half of the story suggests your body probably isn't ready for the onslaught of a single meal. panda river, it has posh chums and iconic status all the others are as, or more, challenged by assorted factors the water cycle is not a waste disposal option

that btl got culled, plausibly because it is true the references to wye water condition stuff has held for ages, the fast food giant things make sense, those mentioned could find such mentions hostile, especially if accurate up til now the level of eutrophication is dramatic, which is reason to say NO

no limits, no pollution scum it took a long time from the mid 1970's until the 2000's to reduce pollution to a level where a decent level of life diversity and amenity was restored to long dead waters that trend has been reversed to tragic effect in the last decade

i missed mentioning a CH4 news piece a week or more ago

the tees dredgers were dumping mud from near the shore into the river on the grounds that that bit was "safe" although it was very small (a few thousand cu m as a minimum) and surrounded by very toxic mud of the same strata that did score as bad toxic etc when tested

did i mention the methodology of the testing by the dredger's tame testers needs proper peer review?

ps there have been more sea kills, im not sure if they can be timed to port activities

the report's methodology and data sources, along with the persons conducting it and giving evidence to it, have been hand-picked by the gov. who are tied themselves to the free port thing politically and financially(see private eyes passim, etc)

no only is it in the gov interest to avoid any practical obstacles to a project they brag about, but if it was to examined too closely in financial crony terms it would be seen for what it is, diverting public money and profit to cronies and bragging of putting freeports on unicorns to useful idiots

tri butyl tin is a super biocide, banned for dry rot among other uses including antifouling paint

good that it was banned globally, the stuff is legacy toxic beyond the needs of mankind to keep a clean bottom or kill a few domestic shrooms

legacy chemicals, sale of real estate, umm

we know another story about that sort of thing

this one is proper nasty as well, 80 000 too much is what got measured,
it would be a good choice of chemical for long term ecocide even in small concentrations

the fine only matters if it gets paid, the remedial works may or may not remedy the damage

Having had a first read of the report the other options are also highly unlikely. I will study it further, but at first sight the methodology is less than thorough and some of the declared conflicts of interest do indicate the intended outcome might not be establishing if the assorted disturbances of silts etc is involved.

i read the report, smoke and mirrors designed to give scope for full denial of any teesport activities being involved

the methodology is borderline unsound at best and the conclusions are inconclusive as intended

the tees mayor, deeply involved as are his pals, has used it as total exoneration

the mystery new pathogen is worthy of sir humphrey as a distraction

journo and pot in the sea response

no dought the massive amount of mud moving that is due will happen

we still do not know for certain the cause/s of this mass die off, but the prima face evidence suggest further study will draw very different conclusions to this rather desperate smoke and mirrors whitewash "report"

the smoke and mirrors approach to framing the structure of the methodology and conclusions was ideal for denial and subsequent confusion suggests there is something to hide

the business aspect of the tees freeport is a delight of cronyism and kleptocracy, it includes senior torykippers and their cronies among its pirate crew, there are much bigger fish offshore, but they stay away from the local waters as they are unhealthy
private eye has done some good work on the business aspects, but there seems to be more that needs finding
