Hi all, anyone know of a nice spot for a holiday in north wales- i'm thinking good pubs, cheap B and B or other accommodation, and some sea fishing spots that are easy to access. I generally prefer rocks, walls etc as never been great at beach casting. Never been to wales so no idea where to start...

Newborough on Anglesey. Great campsite, ace walks and beaches, and I'm no expert on sea fishing having never ever done it but people do do it there. Especially at night. A.

I'd second that, not that I'm into fishing (yet).

Fantastic pub (location wise, not sure about beer and food) on the beach at Porthdinllaen, and there must be plenty of B and B's/campsites around the area.

Try Holyhead - plenty of cheap B and Bs, and easy access (fish from the car) on Holyhead breakwater, plus loads of deep water rock marks to fish off. Plenty of wrasse, pollack, mackeral, and other summer species around by now - also thornback rays and garfish on the west coast of the island.

excellent, thanks all, this is great. never caught a wrasse so definately be trying out for them. Off up to scotland (Assynt) hopefully to have a go at flyfishing next week before I can plan my welsh holiday Monair- i see you fish from kayak. Where abouts do you do that? and do many people do it?

Anglesey is really good for kayaking.

PLenty of ballan, cuckoo and other wrasse off Holyhead breakwater and any of the rock marks on Anglesey. They grow up to 4lb ish and give great sport on light tackle.

Quite a few locals here on Anglesey fish from sit on top kayaks, and also down in Aberaeron where I now work. Great way of seeing the coastline and wildlife as well as getting onto some inaccessible fishing marks, ucluding some very nice inshore reefs which are full of good size eater fish
