we are off on our hols on monday
train booked
pub booked
beach there
ki showed first signs of pro oestrus this morning

i checked on the web that there are options and found there are, rang vets who said bring her in we will see what stage she is at .

they did then denied there is the option to give 2mg per kilo ovarid(progesterone for critters) which i knew would stop and delay the problem and charged me 30 to fail to do more than tell me she was in pro oestrus .

back home ,phoned second vet who said no prob but we need to order some ,it will arrive tuesday.

phoned third vet and set off again to collect pills. one pill in hound problem sorted and nine more to keep it sorted for at least a week.

job done

moral of the story dont always believe what the fancy vet says and if you think they are wrong get a second opinion.

the first vets is normally quite good but this time they made me consider that they may have lost a client.

the really sickening thing is it costs 70p a tablet not the 4 each plus the wasted 30 and a well spent25 with vet three.

a bit too stressful for my liking,i dread to think how confused the mutt is .

That sounds like a formal complaint would be in order.

as they are very well equipped, usually very good, have quite a variety of specialist staff (including a long dog chap) and are fairly near by it might be best to not upset them as i will probably find them useful in the future.

i will however dump them for their easy money jobs such as worm pills, flea splosh etc etc so overall they lose the most profitable part of my trade

i spose if the nhs gets the rhyming slang treatment the same problems and solutions will apply to my doctors.

ps i seem to have been correct and " things" are returning to normal which is quite a relief even if the booty lamb is a bit confused.

there is no way i would use such a drug for general management of such things but to avoid bad timing once in a lifetime it does seem a sensible option.
