We have had our RIR x Sussex POL's for 2 weeks now, and have been lucky enough to have 1 egg every day since the day after we got them.
We just went and collected 3 eggs!!!!! We are soooo happy!! There was the usual 1 in the usual place yesterday plus 1 on the floor of the run, but today 3 in the coop!! Just waiting for 1 to start now!
I am so happy I could burst - is this a normal reaction? :blob5:

Definitely, quite normal. In fact every time I find one egg in the box it's exciting, and when there's a little clutch, it's like a mini-Christmas (or Easter ).

Hi Loopy Lou - Congratulations!!
Lundy and I have had our seven hens for just over a week - they are brilliant - Lundy loves them to bits which is great - because it has taken me four years to persuade him it would be a good idea (brainwashing, he calls it!).
We are so sad we have been taking piccies of our eggs (proud, or what!!?)
Ours are ex-battery hens who should have been made into chicken pies 3 weeks ago.
Just waiting for 1 to start now!
