My seeldings are taking over my bedroom window sill - do you think the last frosts have been?
I need to plant these things out before they go too leggy, (I don't have a green house).
If I cover them do you think they'll be ok? I'm in the midlands - Nottingham.

Regards
Hils

According to my map your last frost is in May on average. But presumably not very severe.

blimey!
Thanks for looking - sounds like a good map.
I think I've been a bit premature in planting then!
I might have to cart them over to my sisters house - she's got a green house she doesn't use. In fact she doen't use her huge garden because she may encounter spiders! what a waste.

as my nana would say...........
never cast a clout till May is out!

This was when it was safe to
stop wearing a vest
plant anything outside re summerish bedding plants
put up the summer curtains etc.

Sounds like my nan was - except she would have used a few swear words too!
I may have to quote you today - hope you don't mind.
-summer curtains- must have been very organised lady!

Hi hils - what do have on your windowsill?

If it's hardy stuff like brassicas and brozad beans, they could go out very soon. There's folks on our site planting out peas, beans, cabbage, and leeks at the moment.

If it's tender stuff (squashes, tomatoes, sweetcorn) - much too early still.

All best - Gavin

Aah. But your nana was talking about the hawthorn trees (May blossom) not the month of May.
Mind you, there is no sign of that here either, so probably best to keep my vest on
