I'd been feverishly wading my way through the Bernwode Fruit Tree catalogue today. Enjoying reading but so frustrated at having virtually run out of space for new trees.
However, it would seem one old variety, Nonpariel, was traditionally grown in pots in the eighteenth centuary. Now pots I could squeeze in Does anyone have any experience of this apple, in pots or otherwise? Also, if you were going to grow an apple in a pot would you opt for M27 or M26?
Further reading has also revealed that Court Pendu Plat and Api Noir also have a history of being grown in pots.
Any experiences of either of these varieties, in pots or otherwise, would be much appreciated.
