Is super the right word? The bit that the frames were suspended in, anyway. I'm supposed to blowtorch it I believe. How vigorously are you supposed to do this?

If you hold the torch so the tip of the flame is an inch or two away from the wood & work slowly over the whole area that's enough.
The heat generated will kill any bugs & pests, you don't need to incinerate.
Once the propolis & wax start to bubble you know its done.
I find the hot air paint strippers easier to use than a torch especially with the fan spreader.

Thanks. I was a bit worried about over doing it.

I found reasonable success with a torch but harder to use and you do get a bit of charring.

I misread this as blowtorching supper.

Kids of a friend of mine when they heard me talking bees to their father & heard me saying about smoking them thought I rolled them up in a rizla so I played along & said they crackled & spat a bit but tasted loverly.
