It's making a return tonight, BBC2, 8pm.

They've got rid of the energetic bloke and the 'thing' that 'cooked' and have replaced them with 3 people who appear to know something about food. One of them is Heston Blumenthal, the 'culinary alchemist' who runs the Fat Duck in Bray, the best restaurant in the world (aledgedly)

Tonight they're looking at the supermarket chicken.

Actually although I hated this series to begin with (and wasn't a fan of the pub cook) it seemed to improve and they had some interesting guests, plus the feature on the selection/slaughter of the cow was very interesting and remarkably frank for such a glossy programme. I shall probably have this on tonight but I wouldn't necessarily stay in to watch it.

Rats! Its the company's 'optional' summer BBQ this evening, ie a superfluous 2 hours on trains into and tubes across London to head office to pretend that we all really enjoy standing around on a few yards of grass in the midst of a few hectares of tarmac. (and it's a fair bet the chicken on that barbie won't be free range!)

Isn't it tonight that you're felling a bit weak and having that tickly cough...?
