i currently have a broody on 12 fertile eggs that i got from a friend. the problem is that i have just remembered that on river cottage hugh turned his eggs everyday to prevent some thing happening.(cant remember what ) i think 4 of the eggs i was given where fresh that day and the rest where from 1 - 3 days before (not sure though) . do you think them not getting turned everday would effect them? they were also kept at room temperature until they were under the broody.
i have only got 11days to go so maybe i should just wait and see.
any help is appreciated.

I wouldn't think there was a problem, however it is too late now, so just let things happen.

When the hen lays a clutch of eggs, she lays one a day until she thinks she has enough. I don't think she does much in the way of turning those eggs until she actually starts sitting, which means they could be lying there unturned for 10 - 12 days, before the sitting starts. So I don't think your eggs will have suffered at all for not having been turned.

Happy hatching!
