Boletus ID Please

Hi, I found a pair of these earlier. I picked them thinking they were early Ceps but the pores are quite yellow as is the stem (slightly). They were in a mixed deciduous/pine wood next to the pines. They are around 2.5 inches in height and cap diametre. Any ideas? Cheers TM

cant help with the ID but did you try to bruise a bit see if it went blue? could help with the ID

bol. appendiculatus ?,bol. luridus ?, leccinum lepidum ?,your mushroom could be anything,what about a section through, see what colour it changes to?,where is the bottom of the stem,we need that to id !!!!!

Hmmm, I figured it would be a difficult one. Sorry but the base is in the bin somewhere as I didn't think I'd need it. I did cut one up and there's no colour change. I'll get a cross section picture on later. Thanks for the help. TM
