Natural England have been using belties on their reserve at Goss moor for a few years now.
Cornwall wildlife trust have Exmoor ponies that they use on another reserve near here.

The cattle will do a good job so long as the bods that put together the grazing strategy know what they are doing.

I have seen rare and sensitive maritime heath ruined through severe understocking as stipulated by the people who are supposed to know.

Our lot had about 20 Hebrideans on 120 acres - talk about urinating into the prevailing...

Still recon you can't beat the good old fashioned Brush cutter/strimmer though

landscapes are formed by the grazers ,to plan for a particular result and adapt the plan is a good start

I read somewhere awhile back that some councils have been employing flocks of goats to clear areas of scrub/vegetation, it seems to have worked well where applied.

It's quite annoying to see Konik ponies used for conservation grazing when our own native breeds such as the New Forest have been bred to survive in such conditions and are from this land.
Koniks are a modern reconstruction of what people think the Tarpan / European Wild Horses would have looked like.
