This will be numpty, I know, but though I'm expert on still photography, I've got no/little web or video expertise. I supply content for a website about our Irish Setters and have a 'video' header that has had no content up till now.

Our Bella, one of the pair in my profile picture, won Best Irish Setter Bitch at Crufts a few weeks back. There was a contested decision about whether she or the younger male winner was Best of Breed and we have been sent several videos of the final run-off, one of which I'd like to put on the website.

Do I have to open a Youtube account (or other similar ) with the videos uploaded, then the website links to that? As I've been sent the files by email I guess there's no file preparation needed. Or is there?

That's the easiest way to do it. Youtube does a fair bit of automatic fettling for you. (Reducing camera shake etc.)

Congratulations on the win.

Yes, you can either link to the on YouTube our embed it into the site.

You get the code to embed it on the YouTube page for your video The video doesn't have to belong to you if someone else had already uploaded it.

well done with the win,
as mentioned youtube is very user friendly, i'm not sure if you can turn off the comments but doing so would avoid random rude troll posts.

I think this was the only place in the online WORLD where I hadn't mentioned Bella's triumph

Thank you, YouTube it is then . . I've only been a watcher not a poster so far so will investigate

i have been very scathing of the KC over the decades but having watched over the last few years the KC seem to be trying to eliminate the interpretation of the breed standard=disability problems of a decade ago in most breeds.
still a way to go with some breeds but in general i was pleasantly surprised at the general fitness of many of the categories.

tell bella the bonzo cloughs have decided it is now an honour rather than a problem to get a gong at crufts

not my mutts but my type of mutt

working

at home

on show

have fun creating bella's content and let us know when it is online

Bella has a glorious arrogance and takes heed of no-one's approval or otherwise.

A good frame, strong muscles, a heart-warming colour and a joyous mentality, her pedigree lists good dogs I've known across thirty years, I don't see much to blame the KC for. They insist on IS breeders using DNA testing for the nastier genetic diseases and log hip scores and health results on a public website. Still looking for reliable tests for epilepsy and bloat, but when they are available we will have the will and knowledge to breed them out.

And her most beautiful daughter is called Ki at home.

I've got the YouTube bit done, just waiting for the Webess to return from holiday after Easter now.
