Anyone ever been involved with this?

The forestry near me is offering five year shooting rights on a 43ha wood, I have to submit a tender by 28th feb with how much we are willing to pay per annum.

Frankly, I haven't a clue as to how much this sort of thing goes for, any ideas?

Hve they been or is it the intention that the rights are part of a commercial shoot?

No idea but would expect them to vary greatly from place to place. Do you have a local shooting club or BASC person you could ask?

No, it's not specifically for a commercial shoot but there doesn't seem to be much detail.

I could speak to local basc etc, but this isn't well advertised and i don't want to spread the word too much around the competition!

So it's rough shooting you're talking about, rather than commercial ? Or were you thinking of rearing pheasants and running a commercial shoot ? That'd make a price difference.

Out of interest, is this just birds or deer etc? Do you even get deer?

I would certainly not mention specifics to people but it would be worth a general chat. Is there a possability of renting them with other people?

I'm looking to do it as a rough shoot with friends, and put down some birds. Sort of a small syndicate.

The first line on the tender is no 'bulleted weapons' should be used, so it's shotguns only.

If they are letting commercial operations in then I won't have a chance.

Why don't you contact them directly for a guide price? they may not be able to advise though being civil servants and all that.

I wouldn't worry about talking to people in an effort to keep it quiet.
The forestry shoot letting is well known and keenly bid for by the shooting fraternity of the province.
