A friend of mine has a new job and they have emailed a contract and a form for him to print out, sign and send back.

Which is a PITA at the best of times, but there's pages and pages of it and of course his printer is out of ink...

One easy option is to fill it in and send it back by email or fax, but of course they haven't sent a proper pdf form that you can fill in, just a form made into a pdf document.

So any recommendations on free pdf converters? Preferably for Linux.

Google for online PDF to whatever converters. You upload, select what you want it to be an it emails it back to you, or you download it.

Plenty of them that work. I'm only on the phone so can't remember which one I've used but I never have trouble finding a decent one with a quick google.

That was my first thought, but all of the ones I've looked at have a page limit unless you subscribe.

1.5MB or 86 pages. They don't necessarily all need converting.
