Just noticed in the very interesting Goose article mrsnesbit has her email address at end.

These can be "harvested" and lumber you with spam

This is an occupational hazard if you are tying to advertise, but if you are "sharing the knowledge" I think it might not be worth the consequences. People can discuss on the forum, by PM if they want it private.

Try this:

Needs javascript, obviously.

Could someone splat the email address please. I'm at work at the mo so cannot do it for a while. It can always be re-added if needed.

I know that one, but there is a catch to it, you need to embed the script, and Mambo is awkward in that regard

Will splat the adddress now.

found a cloaking mambot

So email are now ok, if people want to publish them?

I will leave mrsnesbitts off for the moment, as I still think PMs are better, both for privacy and for getting people to register.

I think PMs are better too as then maybe people will be more inclined to start a thread on the forum

I've had a lot of e-mails through the RC site with questions that I would have been happy to answer on the forums, and would have had more time and inclination to do so. So for me, it's better if no e-mail address appears.

It's definitely better if the issues are raised on the forum because then others get the chance to join in too. There's no obligation on authors to include their email address.

No one will knowingly publish someones email address here unless ti is asked for.
Only people advertising may need this sort of link.
