Belonging to a forum is slightly odd. Giving enough of a hoot about the opinions of other random strangers to fall out with them is fairly wibble-istic. Having arguments about who ought to be excluded from one after a bitter row involving personal offence being taken, sometimes even given as well, is, frankly, just this side of the padded cell.

So I propose we all sign ourselves into the funny farm and allow these perfectly peaceable electrons to resume their unruffled course.

Me first.

I didnt want to waste screen space quoting these posts in full, as they were both quite long, but just to say that I thought they were both very relevant and useful. DS has been going downhill recently IMHO, hopefully things will now get better.

ds is my village green /pub /shop/pals house etc

behave like that and all will be well

some folk are less robust than others and it is polite to allow for that

some of us have had some vicious debates and kept things from being rude ,spose it is a matter of being yourself and respecting other's right to be themselves while disagreeing

the way ds works is anarcho syndicalist in structure as there are common interest groups that do not fit into a single menu of topics and therefore there is cross over from various directions

a village like this is a shock for folk from other worlds until they get to know who is who and what is what ,maybe village elders need to be educating folk

there are folk in this village who i would trust with my life ,limb or liberty

Oh gosh I am a brand newbie and just started reading this thread, how thrilling! I thought it looked very nice here but then I am ultra new. I've spent most of my internet time on a fairly fluffy parenting forum, now I am pondering what I might be able to get away with...or have to put up with!... here

In general though the be nice mantra works for most people, and persistent posters who just enjoy being inflammatory soon get ignored.

Offend everybody? Given the heterogeneity of our membership, that would indeed be an impressive demonstration of the vituperative arts.

Sort of a "triple word score" of abuse then really.........

If an insult was knitted, what sort of needles would one need? Although this begs the obvious question... what needles are needed to knit an orgasm?
A.

One big one I'm told. Although I've heard that's been disputed.
