thanks for the replies, it is a lovely place and they keep it to a very high standard, so it will be a wrench for them to leave, however father in law is 80 this year and maintaining the land is not getting any easier for them as well as being too far away for us to help out, particularly as we are tied to our small farm with keeping livestock. If they could bring the house with them they would!

It's lovely - location fine, right size and combination of land use, unfortunately the OH can't manage stairs, so sorry, no good for us. Good Luck though!

thank you for the good wishes with the sale and move.

Thats a shame Mary, although I think a stairlift would be feasible in the house, but not as easy as having everything on the same floor. Goodluck if you are currently searching.

I have now updated with asking price following valuations and will add a link to the agents as soon as the property is listed.

There may also be the possiblility of additional adjoining land by seperate negotiation.

a link to details...at last! https://www.ruralscene.co.uk/details/4120_KP555F.pdf

Please see original post regarding the possiblity of adjoining land - as rural scene appear to have omitted this important information!

Offers will be considered as looking for a quick sale, no onward chain.

Do you have an idea what price the other party are looking for, for the extra land?

I will see whether I can find anything out, my inlaws have not wanted to be party to the price negotiation on the adjoining land though, and hence the number of the owner has been given to viewers who are interested in the house to speak direct with the landowner, so it may be a matter of going through that route if seriously interested. I don't think it is too extortionate though as there were 2 offers on the house fairly recently and both people were happy with the price for the land, unfortunately the people who had their offer accepted later pulled out as they were worried about being on the fens and decided they wanted a property on higher land, being close to sea level comes with being so close to the sea! In the meantime the other potential buyers found an alternative property, but I don't think either mentioned any problems over negotiating a price on the land.
