Does anyone know of an insurance company, or a broker I can approach that would provide buildings cover for non standard construction buildings?

Nothing too radical, just a timber framed building on concrete pillars.

The buildings have been up since the 1960's with no problems around subsidence, flooding or general issues.

Online companies all shy away from anything other than a square brick box it seems.

Zurich insure ours, which is timber framed, on mud. Like most of Herefordshire.

NFU do thatch, which is fairly non-standard these days ... might be worth checking them out, too.

Thanks Chez. We have NFU for main residence but for a second home or holiday letting property they only offer limited cover,no accidental damage.

It's worth noting that often an insurer won't look at a second place, unless you have your first with them.

Yes, we found NFU's 2nd home cover rather limited.

We used these people who were very helpful and understanding, they cover non-standard and 2nd home.

Sorry, didnt read it was for a second property I was overexcited at the offer from a mrs Jiang Ming from hong kong who has an exciting business deal for me

Coupled with having a bank account hacked for a bank Ive never banked with ever so I am sure youll forgive my natural distraction
