If you are downsizing abroad and rely as many do on the Nationwide for your cash, given the up to now free conversion rates, bewarned this will stop in November. https://www.guardian.co.uk/money/2010/jul/31/nationwide-flexaccount-charge-withdrawals

bummer, I remember this from years ago, working out that just taking money out of a Flexaccount abroad was rather cheaper than all the other Foreign currency options I recall trying to get this confirmed by Nationwide who were rather reluctant to admit it really. They would much rather have told travellers cheques.

No, they were the only ones. I am told that around one million UK pensioners, now living abroad, use flex accounts for their banking, that is a lot of customers to piss off!

On the other hand, that's 1 million customers some other bank could snap up if they had any sense.

Lil dont know here you bank, Im in the DSK Bank and have two accounts one in lev and one in sterling which is great to swap money when the rates are good then draw from whichevers best at the time.........thats when I have any money.
Think BG are in a good position re the euro crisis dont think they should join the euro, I love levs.
