We run our charcoal making courses, but we wondered what courses other downsizers are running, where they are held and any relevant details.

apart from helping out at the various DS fibre weekends and retreats, I'm doing a two day traditional skills course at Renew in mid Wales https://renew.midwales.org.uk/events in July, and will be doing a number of demonstrations and sessions on historic food, soap, cosmetics, textiles and similar topics in museums around the country throughout the year. Easiest way to see what we are up to is to have a look at the diary at https://sallypointer.com/diary

Happy to travel anywhere, can do sessions on specific skills or on a related group of topics.

I've got some wild food walks and mushroom foray experience days
https://www.gastronomicdiscovery.org/
and https://www.foodsafari.co.uk/course/mushrooms-in-a-day/
and my first chutney and preserves course
https://swaveseyvc.co.uk/page/default.asp?pid=64&title=More%20Community%20Education%20Information.
There might be some more, including a coastal wild foods day June 23rd - still planning that one.

Having handed over several of my courses to Mochyn, I still run a few at Acton Scott. Victorian farmers wife, the still room, lotions & potions and Victorian Christmas (stir up Sunday). In addition I run a writers course and an improvisation course as part of my day job. :0)

I do poultry keeping and beekeeping.
John does welding and blacksmithing.

We do arrange courses through RBS as well as privately. The RBS ones are considerably subsidised by EU money.

I also am a training coordinator for the RBS setting up loads of other courses all over the SW (but concentrating on Cornwall & Devon) on subjects ranging from cattle hoof trimming to succession planning. We also work closely with Young Farmers.

I am the GTO for the Small Farm Training Group in East Sussex, we run courses for our members throughout the year on anything smallholder, farming or craft related. Membership is 20 per annum and the courses cost anywhere between 10 and 60 per person.
I am looking for new tutors in the area who would like to give a morning or day of their time for a small remuneration to run some new courses. We are covered on livestock but could do with some new blood for anything craft or downsizer related, we love anyone with some passion, confidence and experience, no qualifications required!... email me at gto@sftg.co.uk if you are local and can help
