British pickling onions 80p/kg in the greengrocer's. Cheaper if you buy a 10kg sack.
I haven't made any for a couple of years 'cos they only had imported onions.

I can't find any plain pickling vinegar locally, only prespiced, which kind of defeats the point.

Can't move in the pubs these days without drunken eggs and onions tanking it up.
