i think it is safe to say that those are categorically boletus edulis aka the cep. My favourite mushroom of all time and in great condition! Enjoy

I have just had the best mushrooms I have ever eaten. Just lightly fried with garlic and ground pepper, on crusty bread to mop up the juices.

Heaven...

They sound yummy - I love raw Cep (small young specimens) even better than cooked. I've got two or three big containers of dried Ceps from just a couple of forages this year. They keep for ages & just a few really adds a great flavour to any dish. Love em

Wow JP! I love the ways they are all dotted around that patch of grass. Have not seen as many fine ceps since I went picking a few weeks back

Thanks banana - it was a breathtaking sight. For me, not only is the Porcini the tastiest mushroom, but also the most beautiful. Quite magical

Wow, they look great. i found a few this year but they really did not seem to do well around here - i'm a beginer so idk if it was me or the mushrooms, i kind of think it was the slugs;)
It was a great season for chanterelles though, piicked what i guess will be my last few golden ones earlier this week.
