Interesting. Seems odd that the 'hive' seems to consist of pretty well one comb with the honey at the top nearest to the attachment.

The bees may be large, but that doesn't mean they are worse than others. We had a man in our beekeeping association when husband first joined 30 years ago that had been a bee adviser in Africa. They have very small but vicious bees there.

Wow. There are some very impressive pictures there. It's amazing what man will do for the great taste of honey.
