If you promise not to laugh, then yes

I suspect a statement should be more 'arty' than a CV but I prefer my work to do the talking, not me. I find some artist's statements positively nauseating.

Ann Lewis VPRCA

Born in St. Asaph, Flintshire in 1962, Ann studied at the Art College in Bangor and then at Exeter College of Art and Design where she graduated in 1988.

Ann returned to Wales, initially working as a freelance designer and illustrator.

A gradual evolution from designer to fine artist began in 1993 when Ann was elected a member of the Royal Cambrian Academy.

Ann served as a Council member at the Royal Cambrian Academy for three separate periods between 1994 and 2006. At the Annual General Meeting in April 2014, Ann was elected Vice-President of the Royal Cambrian Academy.

Ann exhibits in several galleries throughout Wales including the Martin Tinney Gallery, Cardiff, Oriel Tegfryn, Menai Bridge,The Royal Cambrian Academy in Conwy, White Lion Street Gallery, Tenby and Lion Street Gallery in Hay-on-Wye.

Ann has work in the National Library of Wales collection and the Governments Art Collection.

Since March 2009, Ann has worked full time as an artist/printmaker, specialising in the reduction method of linocutting, She produces small editions of hand-made original prints in her studio overlooking the Ogwen valley"

ETA - yep, online delving suggests it definitely need to be more of an "I work like this because ...." statement, not a CV.

This is where I'm at now Jamanda.

Ann Lewis VPRCA

(what I do)Im a full time artist/printmaker, specialising in the reduction method of linocutting. I produce limited editions (normally no more than 30 prints in an edition) of original prints, working from my studio overlooking the Ogwen Valley in North Wales.

(how I do it)I use a nipping press for my smaller work and oversize prints are meticulously hand burnished. I produce some monochrome work but many prints use between 5 and 12 individual colours.

(Why do I do it) ...stuck on this one at the moment

These are the current ones at The Plough if that's any help.

I'll try to have a think.

i enjoy doing what i do to show the world, by seeing you are part of that process

less than seventeen words and might fit somewhere

i spose it depends whether you want to keep it to facts about method or about the emotional input from artist and viewer

What are you exhibiting? Is there a theme to the works, however loose?

This needs to lose one more word!

Ann Lewis VPRCA

(What) Im a full time artist/printmaker, specialising in the reduction method of linocutting. I produce limited editions (up to 30 prints in an edition) of original prints, from my studio overlooking the Ogwen Valley in North Wales.

(How) I use a nipping press for my smaller work and oversize prints are meticulously hand burnished. I produce some monochrome work but many prints use between 5 and 12 colours.

(Why) My passion is to make linocut prints acceptable as serious works of art, as expressive, adaptive, flexible and exciting as any other. My inspiration is the North Wales landscape.

(BTW - there is a typo on your web page - the last paragraph on the page about the artist says "belive")

Want to avoid the 'emotional' if possible - that's between me and my work and I really want to remain true to that. If people like and buy, of course I'm an even happier printmaker.

I don't like "max" . "Maximum" would be slightly better.
