I get the DT Brown newsletter thingy trying to flog things to me. Their latest offer is

Can anyone see the obvious problem with this?
Six plants doesn't bear thinking about...

we have a mr and mrs spratt situation here ,she likes courgette,i like marrow ,she hates marrow ,i despise courtgette(flowers are ok ) im seeking a type that will do both

I don't grow courgettes any more. I don't like marrow, and summer squashes have much better flavour, imo. This year I'm growing tromboncino and maybe a patty pan. Although tromboncino may be worse than courgettes - last time it got ginormous! Tastes much better small and keeps better large, though.

When I did grow them, I picked baby ones at a couple of inches long. That kept them in check without having to live on them. The last three years, I have planted one plant only (and was stuffed on two occasions when it dyed!)

My experience of courgettes is if you miss one it turns into a marrow. Can't you just leave a few on the plant for you Dpack? Piggyphile, agree with you about too many courgettes there.

not just me then ? i recon as im planning on planting on the woodshed and trailing onto the bigshed roof i can decide how big they get

i recon harvest at flower time is a good way to get big marrows and control numbers i had 4 plants that showed up on google earth in south yorks so this time i will get one established ps re feeding if they are getting a lot of feed it is a good idea to harvest before this weeks "dinner" as the flavor is better

dpack, harvest the marrows early and claim they are courgettes. I don't like either so I don't grow them now! I did once win a prize for a 'perfect' marrow in a local show, and I left it there too! I did grow courgettes for 'er that was who liked them, but 'er has gone. Sorted that one!
