On the last Saturday of the month we have a regular market in the Uplands area of Swansea, it's been going just over a year now and it's become a really popular event. It's mainly a food market for local producers but there are craft stall as well. It's become a really social occasion too as there is always live music and/or poetry readings, and in the summer the play team come and bring the play bus or a kind of boat thing for the kids to play on. The Sherbling and I try and go every month if I can because as well as all the tasting and buying interesting food we always meet loads of people we know and the Sherbling always seems to find friends from school there. We are lucky in Swansea that we have several different markets running on different weekends during the month but none of the others seem to have the added bonus of live music and poetry and free entertainment for the children.
If anyone is in the Swansea area on the last Saturday of the month and enjoys markets of this kind I would recommend checking it out.
