When is the best time to split and replant rhubarb? It needs moving, and now I know where the boggiest parts of the field are....

It's supposed to be done in Spring or Autumn before it starts / after it's finished growing.

autumn seems to work but i usually put a bucket or bathtub over the stuff for early blanched crops so disturbing it in spring would mess that up

whenever you do it put lots of manure under and around it .

I was thinking about moving it out of a weed infested corner into an especially soggy bit. Excellent use of a bathtub though. I've got a couple hanging about. Looks like I'd better leave it

Rhubarb is tough but even it can succumb in soil thats waterlogged for months at a time.

I thought it was winter, but general concensus seems to be when it is not growing.
