Wonderful, good luck! Does the RBST have any useful resources for you?

Not really, I'm interested in the breeds as they were but they're more concerned with the breeds as they are now and they're show birds that may look the part but don't fulfil the part.

Bodger, did you ever buy any of those strange metallic all black poultry you were banging on about a while ago? How did they do?

I'm not sure which ones you mean Lozzer? The only breed I've taken on in the last few years are my Anconas, which are black with white tips to the ends of their feathers. No. If its not those, then I can't think what they might have been.

Years and years ago a lady member on here posted some great pictures of her Minorca's but by the time I found the thread, she'd long gone. I seem to recall that she was up in your old neck of the woods, in Scotland. I may have mentioned them but you know me, I never bang on about anything. Well at least not for too long !

I did say that it was a long time ago. Found it.

I think Lorraine may be on about the Welsh Blacks, cannot remember the posters name but he lived near Hay on wye if I remember correctly,
Think he was crossing Indian game with Australorps.

That would be Dave Harris at Castle Farm near Hay on Wye.

A little like waiting at a bus top for a bus to come and then loads arriving at once, I give you 'One for the Pot'

An update on this Facebook group and to say that I'm thrilled at how well things are going. The groups title was modified quite quickly and is now known as Old Time Poultry and Farming Ways.

The group now has over six hundred members and is an active, vibrant interesting place.

PS. I'm still an old time Downsizer.
